ALL ABOARD!!! article by: James Thomas Fridas
MAY 9, 2013 Its travel season again!!!
So get the kids ready, the car ready and all the things that need to be ready, most importantly don't forget the wife!!! OK, now lets see where we are going for starters, after all we have May next then June and July and August and the roads are begging us to go go go and go some more so get thyself ready!!!
With travel season upon us we can take a bus, a train or a plane, maybe a motor car or motorcycle and from there we can go to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, or go on a factory outlet tour as there are numerous buses that go to the various factory outlets, of course there are a number of other things to do as well.
There are cruises, there are bus tours as well as train tours, be careful planning as there are a number of charlatans that are into scams and the like so be careful, as for the west coast I am some what knowledgeable in the best buses to use and then the train is of course Amtrak, air charters are another thing people have been stranded on foreign soil due to charter companies shortchanging the air carrier and then the company went out of business and there you are all stranded in a foreign nation with no transportation so air charters are risky if they are the unknown charters, so always go with a well known air charter!
For starters a factory tour or a casino tour is a great way to get the travel bug quelled for a while until you get the travel fever to go go go!!! On tours check out sites on the Internet and see if for example going to the Caves in Murphy's California may be just what the Dr ordered and it will be an experience the kids will not forget!
There are numerous caves around the nation as well as in Canada Mexico and other countries, another plus for families are Ghost Towns, like Bodie California and Ryolite Nevada these among dozens of Ghost Towns are a fascinating way to let your child's imagination run wild.
Of course no tour would be worth anything without great restaurants to visit, so to are the food companies along the way for example in Utah there is the famous candy makers like Amano Chocolates in Orem Utah or Amber Lyn Chocolates in Saint George Utah and of course candy just isn't complete with out Caramel candy from Avenue Sweets in Salt Lake City.
There are numerous candy makers throughout the nation these are only a small sample of the great candy makers I will post more for those interested in locating and visiting the factories that have tours on site!

Well first I got settled in my room, then I went to the buffet, oh yeah the buffet, then I ordered a drink and settled in for some action Jackson at the 5 card draw after which I went to the Keno room for a while, then I went to my room, had to get 40 winks you know! ALL ABOARD PLEASE article by: James Thomas Fridas
Group travel is a great way to travel, buses are an exciting form of transportation especially if you travel with friends to different places, casino’s in Las Vegas, Reno, Sparks, Carson City, maybe the east coast if you live there like Atlantic City, Miami or take a vacation and tour such famous places as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone Park, or any of a thousand other destinations in an American city that has more to offer than Europe, Asia, Africa or the Middle East, if you do not believe me check it out, the Mississippi has a hundred travel destinations aboard their River Boats and then there is the Missouri river and the Ohio River with many more destinations.
Take a bus group to Branson or a group to Salt lake City, or visit California’s famous Yosemite Park what a breathe taking view, El Capitan among many of the great views.
One very spectacular place to visit in Southern California is when the Swallows return to Capistrano and the Hurst mansion and then there is of course the Mission at San Juan Capistrano I mention above which is near San Diego south of Los Angeles and there are a total of 21 Spanish Missions that were part of the Spanish order of Franciscans who built both the missions and the military out posts for the Spanish army.
Perhaps the most intriguing mission is the Mission in San Francisco at Dolores as a young boy I lived in the apartment across the street from there, it is a beautiful mission and of course the 21 missions are all beautiful, jump in your go mobile and visit some of them when you can.
Now we have a new travel package in California that happens to be the Indian Casino's, some of them are truly incredible while a few have actually closed. There are 27 casinos in Northern California, 7 in Central California and 23 in Southern California with San Diego county leading with 12 casinos in the county.
Every bus company serves a certain number of casinos for example Diamond Coach Tours out of Oakley/Antioch area in Contra Costa county serves Feather Falls Casino in Oroville and Cache Creek in just a little north of Sacramento California. They also service Chuckchanci Gold just a little east of Madera California and a few other casinos with other bus companies when there is space on the calendar.
We will add more feature stories in the travel section over the next few months, please forward to a friend.

AMERICAN'S TRAVELLING
Nevada here We Come article by: James Thomas Fridas
Well its May and spring is ready to spring on us! We all want the nice weather and the time to plan a trip whether its a weekend jant or a week long trip or a two week vacation its time to make those plans and get the car and the kids ready for family fun or just a couple or who knows if your single like me its get the car ready and drive off into the sunrise! well if your going east its the sunrise, if your in the east its the sunrise as well because your coming with it, make sense? OK lets get the map out and check our route, mine is highway 80 to Reno Sparks, then its down 395 to Las Vega, or as it is commonly referred to, "Las Wages"!
Actually I liketo stop in other places when I am in Nevada I have cousins in Dayton outside of Carson City about 30 miles east going toward Silver City. Its a quiet road and its a small town with a lot of new homes popping up all over the place, and of course Las Vegas has more home than you can imagine, imagine that!
I like to stay at John Ascuga's Hotel Casino in Sparks just outside of Reno along the highway, then when I am ready I will drive over to Fernley and then Fallon where I use to own 160 acres on alternate 95 a small highway going North from Fallon to highway 80, it has really grown since I was there, it was around 1,500 people in 1973 and today its around 10,000 people ernlay has also grown like that it was no more than Fallon then and now has numerous new homes and shopping centers and has grown along the way as a suburb of Reno Sparks.
What I would like to do is have you look at the following web site and see if you have any suggestions, comments or other information and input that you would like to let me in on, I appreciate any and all information so please click on this link and see if it is something you would go to for information about travel and tours and so on, http://www.diamondcoachtours.com/ and see what may interest you and let me know!

PACK THE CAR AND GO article by: James Thomas Fridas
Its April and the weather is getting better all the time as I see it so get a tune up and an oil change clean the car, make the reservations for Reno Sparks, suggestion John Ascuaga's Hotel is fantastic, you will love it, unless you are going to Lost Wages, Sin City et al; remember Bruce Willis was in a film titled Sin City, did you see it? If not you missed a fantastic film back to Reno Sparks I was at John Ascuaga's Hotel in November and it was really fun and the room was very comfortable, you and the kids will love it, then of course for those of you who prefer entertainment there is Circus Circus, so what ever you do Reno Sparks will be a fun place to go, I will see you there if not I will be there enjoying the fun all by my lonesome, so do yourself a favor and make your reservations early Summer is a busy time in Reno and remember Hot August Nights are coming soon and then the reservations are really hard to get you may have to make reservations in Fallon!
I may create few more travel posts but I have many other posts as well so don't hold your breathe I try to write several posts daily.

CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION
A LITTLE OFF THE BEATEN PATH article by: James Thomas Fridas
This may take some of my readers to a time and place that they are not ready to go, allow me to explain that the current Governor of California once rated as the lowest achiever in California history in his second term of office in the 70's he had a Director of transportation who gave a speech where he stated that "In the future we will force drivers out of their cars and make them take public transportation"! What an idiot! While the left wing liberal socialists plan on how to rule the peons of California they make no plans on how to create this so called transportation system because they are incapable of developing and designing constructive idea's due to the fact they are obsessed with control and greed, no time to plan on excellent transportation systems.
OK so Jim what is a good system? Well actually it is a great system it is streetcars! Yes good old fashioned streetcars! They are the backbone of transportation and more they are the center of economic stability and growth.
Cities that have developed streetcars over the last hundred years are far better off than cities with out street cars, lets look at some of them and see, of course subways such as New York and Chicago also are included in the street car stability.
Major areas are also Philadelphia, Pittsburgh San Francisco, and for the coupe d ta we need to look at Sacramento which started planning a rail system in the late 70's and started building it rail line around 1982 which took Sacramento from a cow town to a growth center with industry and commerce moving there as rapidly as the street car system was introduced.
This is what can happen to cities that introduce streetcars, growth and economic stability, so do I think street cars are a good idea? You bet your gas can I do!
It was announced that as many as 22 cities are planning streetcar systems and they are as follows,Washington D.C., Tucson Arizona, Kenosha Wisconsin, Arlington Virginia, Salt Lake City Utah, San Antonio Texas, Fort Worth Texas, Dallas Texas, Providence Rhode Island, Lake Oswego Oregon, Columbus Ohio, Cincinnati Ohio, Charlotte North Carolina, Grand Rapids Michigan, Baltimore Maryland, New Orleans Louisiana, Boise Idaho, Fort Lauderdale Florida, Los Angeles California, Little Rock Arkansas, Seattle Washington.
Of course at the writing of this article there are some of these cities that have started their new lines on short spurs to get things rolling as it were so people would get on board supporting these ideas and to the Obama administration I have to congratulate you for supporting this idea and pushing streetcars throughout the nation as one area that others should support, go Streetcars!

GET THE CAR READY! article by: James Thomas Fridas
Its almost spring and the kids are getting ancy so are the big kids like me and you! so lets prepare for the Spring and Summer fun just around the corner. That means tune up the car, lube and oil change, then get all the things ready for the vacation. Will it be the grand Canyon? Yellow Stone? How about a trip to Alaska? WOW! That would be fun, say a couple of friends and a quick run up to Washington, take the ferry up to Alaska save on fuel and get there faster then start the fun. OK maybe the old stand by Disney Land vacations in Florida or California now you will need a week off just to recoup from the exhaustion that you will have from all the fun! Well maybe you should send the kids packing and you stay home so as to prevent becoming to tired to go back to work!
